![]() Constance Washburn M.A. has over 35 years of experience designing and directing education and outreach programs for non-profits. For 16 years as Education Director at the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT), she designed and ran their popular outreach and volunteer programs, which reached over 5,000 people per year. These programs included hikes, tours, talks, large public events, volunteer and teacher trainings as well as the Farm Field Studies program which brought over 2,000 students a year out onto farms. She was a co-founder of the Marin Agriculture and Education Alliance which started the Ag Institute for Teachers, the Farm Field Studies Program and the Ag Education Farm feasibility study which led to the creation of the Indian Valley College Farm and Garden. She was a member of the Marin Food Policy Council, the Marin Food Systems Project, and the agricultural representative on the Marin Economic Commission. She is currently a member of the Northern California Slow Money Steering Committee. Constance also consults on educational program design for non-profits and offers workshops in Joanna Macy’s " Work that Reconnects". She is a graduate of the Center for Whole Communities Leadership Training as well as the Ecology of Leadership and Permaculture Design programs at the Regenerative Design Institute. Prior to life in California Constance was the director of an educational theatre company producing and directing plays as well as teaching acting and public speaking to adults and children.
