Stacey Smith

Stacey Smith

Stacey brings over 20 years of experience in the areas of organizational strategy, financial management, operations and process management. Most of her career to date has been spent working with large and medium sized companies, helping them to improve their strategies and operational practices.  For the past 12 years Stacey has worked at the intersection of the corporate, civil society and governmental sectors on issues of social and environmental impact, developing expertise in the areas environmental management, labor rights and community development.  She was also a senior manager in a non-profit organization for nine years. 

Over the past 10 years Stacey has worked with various companies in the food and agriculture industry in the capacity of sustainability consultant.  She has a strong understanding of the global food system and the operational realities of regional value chains within the industry.  Her passion for food and sustainability has also led her to work on local food systems issues at the same time in a volunteer and Board capacity.

Stacey was most recently with GreenOrder, an environmental strategy consultancy. Prior to that she spent 9 years at Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) leading clients through their journey to sustainability, and 9 years at Arthur Andersen in their accounting and change management practices. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and has completed various graduate and professional education courses in the areas of accounting, change management, and organizational development.
