Our volunteer program connects community members to a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. You can glean on a farm, help host an event, assist with school group tours on farms, serve at farmer dinners, and of course come work in the office. Marin Organic is able to do our work of promoting local organic farms, making local food available for our whole community, and educating the next generation about the value of local food and farms with the help of our volunteers.
Current volunteers may Log In to view the calendar of scheduled events and to schedule themselves as either a lead or normal docent.
New volunteers, we ask that you fill out the Application Form so that we know what your skills and interests are. Click on the Application Form button to access the online application form.
Farm Field Studies Docents
Join our team of trained docents who lead school groups through activity-based learning experiences on a variety of Marin Organic farms. Tours are usually weekday mornings. Training is scheduled annually.
Put on your hat and work gloves and assist in harvesting the “gleanings” from already harvested fields. The items you gather are donated to the food bank, schools, senior centers or other organizations that bring fresh, local food to those in need in our community. No special training is required.
Farm Tours and Events
Assist in managing the logistics for organized tours of various organic farms in Marin or farm related speaking events. These tours, Farm Dinners at restaurants and speaker events are scheduled intermittently throughout the year and normally take place on weekends or evenings.
Tramping through fields, rain or shine, is not your favorite activity? Consider helping us with some light office work and data entry. We can always use help entering membership data, filing liability release forms, and building the mailing list.
Special Volunteers Needed
We have special projects and programs that need volunteers on a regular basis. The Glean Team needs a manager. We need help with developing and managing a membership program. We need someone who is good at graphic design to help with flyers and handouts. Just to name a few.
