How to Purchase

Direct:
Join County Line at one of their Rogue Markets! Rogue markets are a convenient way for local customers to enjoy organic produce. At a rogue market, unlike a farmers’ market, customers receive pre-ordered “mystery boxes” of produce harvested earlier that day. Similar to a CSA box, but you don’t have to commit to a full season. Rogue markets are hosted at numerous restaurants throughout the Bay Area. Check their current schedule for a list of participating restaurants, www.countylineharvest.com/Rogue_Markets.html and to find out more about how you can get a delicious box of produce for only $25!

For restaurants and retailers, please call County Line Harvest to request a produce availability list and to set up pick-ups and deliveries.

For individuals, please visit County Line at one of their Bay Area Farmers Market Locations. On occasion, County Line Harvest has been hosting a roadside stand along the Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, just North of Hicks Valley Road.

The Farmer

An L.A. native, County Line Harvest owner David Retsky discovered farming somewhere between spending time in a kibbutz in Israel and getting a certificate in ecological horticulture from the UC Santa Cruz farm and garden program. He would say he owes a lot of his success to his community and to one friend in particular, Martin Borenesque, who sold him his first tractor. Today, David is a first rate farmer, growing premier baby greens for restaurants in the Bay Area and training new apprentices every year on County Line Harvest's 32 acres. His vision for the future includes preserving farmland, finding smarter distribution methods, and inspiring the youth of local ranching families to step confidently into the business. As a renter of farmland in Marin County, David has learned to be flexible in his future plans, open to lots of possibilities and creative in his use of land.

Work on the Farm

County Line Harvest is looking for an office manager for their organic farm in West Marin. This position is essentially the liaison between what is going on in the field and their customers. Someone applying for this job should be able to multitask, be self-directed, organized, and have an interest in organic agriculture. Other extremely helpful attributes are knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks and Excel, conversational Spanish, and good phone skills. Tasks for this position include taking orders from customers, preparing harvest lists, general bookkeeping (including account reconciling and invoicing), and any number of special projects. $12-15 to start depending on experience.
