Mimi Luebbermann moved to the Chileno Valley in 1995 with the goal of creating a contemplative agricultural existence to further her writing career. Instead, Windrush Farm has evolved into an educational facility entertaining and educating Bay Area children and adults about farm life, wool, and the real world of animals, grass and sunshine. She and her son, Arann Harris, work closely with the Marin Agricultural Land Trust’s Farm Field Studies program throughout the spring, and run special programs during the summer. Additionally, with Marlie deSwart of Black Mountain Artisans, she teaches spinning and wool dyeing classes. Fiber artists use the farm for spinning retreats throughout the year. The farm is open for fiber events four times a year.
